Vincent Verkoelen (1978) is a strategic leader with more than two decades of experience operating at the intersection of business, governance and societal impact. Throughout his career, he has helped organisations navigate complexity, lead transformation and translate ambition into lasting results.

Always drawn to environments where competing interests, public expectations and organisational realities converge, Vincent combines strategic thinking with an energetic and engaging leadership style. He is known for quickly grasping the essence of complex situations, bringing clarity where needed and creating momentum in periods of change. Equally comfortable discussing strategy, governance and financial performance as he is shaping stakeholder engagement, organisational positioning and public narratives, he connects people and interests around a shared direction.

A recurring theme throughout his career has been working in organisations facing significant strategic, operational or societal challenges. Whether shaping long-term strategy, guiding organisational renewal or strengthening organisational positioning, he brings a broad perspective that connects financial performance, governance, stakeholder interests and long-term value creation. His ability to combine analytical rigour with communication, stakeholder engagement and creative problem-solving enables him to build support for change and translate complex agendas into clear action.

Most recently, Vincent served as Director of Strategy & Policy at Haag Wonen, one of the larger housing corporations in the Netherlands. In this role, he was responsible for translating long-term ambitions into a coherent multi-year strategy and helping guide organisational development in the context of a national housing shortage, the energy transition and increasing societal expectations around accountability and public value. Alongside complex stakeholder engagement Vincent lead the multi billion 10 years real estate investment steering.

Earlier, as acting Managing Director of Meldpunt Discriminatie Regio Amsterdam (MDRA), he stepped into an organisation facing significant internal challenges. Under his leadership, the organisation regained stability, strengthened its position and substantially expanded its visibility, reach and impact.

As Managing Director of Museum Het Grachtenhuis (Museum of the Canals) in Amsterdam, Vincent developed and executed a strategy that strengthened both the cultural relevance and commercial performance of the organisation, positioning it as a distinctive destination within Amsterdam's cultural landscape.

His career began in international corporate finance and sustainable development at ABN AMRO, where he worked as right-hand man to the Global Head of Sustainable Development on strategic initiatives at the intersection of finance, sustainability and stakeholder engagement. He subsequently became involved in financial consultancy and investor engagement within the field of impact investing.

This combination of financial expertise, strategic leadership and experience across public, private and societal domains provides Vincent with a distinctive perspective on organisational leadership. He understands both the governance and commercial realities organisations face, while recognising the importance of public trust, stakeholder relationships and long-term impact.

Alongside his professional career, Vincent developed an early interest in governance and public affairs through leadership roles in political organisations, including D66, and serving as National President of the Young Democrats. He also participated in the International Visitor Leadership Program of the U.S. State Department.

Vincent holds a Master's degree in Finance (MSc) and a degree in Business Administration (drs.) from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. In 2026, he completed the Supervisory Board Programme at Nyenrode Business Universiteit.
